The Ayan Mukerji directorial Brahmastra which released over a week ago has been doing brisk business since its release. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt the film which saw a release over 5000 screens in India has been raking in the moolah far exceeding expectations. In fact, after crossing the Rs. 100 cr mark, Brahmastra crossed even the Rs. 200 cr mark within just 10 days of its release. With Brahmastra doing well at the box office, Alia Bhatt seems to be on a roll this year.

In this box office report, we look at Alia Bhatt’s box office graph for the year 2022. Interestingly, while a number of films and actors have been facing a hard time at the box office post the pandemic, Alia seems to be rise. In fact, with Brahmastra Alia now has become the only actress to score three back-to-back centuries at the box office. Starting with Gangubai Kathiawadi which collected Rs. 129.10 cr, Alia Bhatt next featured in the epic saga RRR which drew in a staggering Rs. 274.31 cr, now with Brahmastra as well making it past the Rs. 200 cr. mark, Alia has given a Rs. 100 cr. hattrick at the India box office. Interestingly, two of Alia’s recent releases viz. RRR and Brahmastra have managed to enter the exclusive Rs. 200 cr. club, making it yet another first for 2022.

As for Brahmastra, currently still running in theatres, the business of the film is expected to see further growth in collections. Facing little to no competition at the box office, Brahmastra could well see its collections near the Rs. 250 cr mark by the end of its second week in theatres.
