S Jaishankar Visit Mozambique: India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar visited Mozambique’s capital Maputo on Thursday (April 13). During this, the Foreign Minister took a ride in the Made in India train. Also discussed with the Transport Minister of Mozambique about India’s partnership in expanding train network electric mobility and waterway connectivity.
India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has reached Mozambique’s capital Maputo on Thursday on a three-day visit from 13 to 15 April. He met the President of the Parliament of the African country to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
First visit by a Foreign Minister of India
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s visit to Mozambique is the first visit by an Indian Foreign Minister to the country. He tweeted, “Had a wonderful green transport conversation with Mateusz Magala, Mozambique’s Minister of Transport and Communications and President of the Mozambican Port and Rail Authority. Talked about expansion of train network, electric mobility and waterways connectivity. India is a reliable partner in this regard. During this, he also took a ride on a train made in India.

S Jaishankar tweeted that he took a ride in Made in India from Maputo to Machwa with Mozambique’s Transport Minister Mateus Magala. I appreciate RITES CMD Rahul Mithal joining the journey. S Jaishankar also interacted with the Indian community and visited a temple.
He tweeted that he offered prayers at Shri Vishwambhar Mahadev Temple in Maputo this evening. It was a pleasure to interact with the Indian community there. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar arrived in Maputo from Uganda where he held talks with the country’s top leadership including President Yoweri Museveni and discussed possible cooperation in the areas of trade, infrastructure, energy and defence.
