Chabahar Port: India and Central Asian countries reiterated at the first meeting of their Joint Working Group on Chabahar Port that connectivity steps must comply with global rules, transparency, local priorities, financial stability and respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries .
This was stated in the joint statement issued after the meeting held on April 12 and 13 in Mumbai hosted by India. India and Iran are jointly developing the Chabahar port located in Sistan-Balochistan province in the southern coastal region of Iran. The first meeting of the India-Central Asia Joint Working Group on Chabahar Port was chaired by Dammu Ravi, Secretary (Economic Relations) in the Ministry of External Affairs. The meeting was attended by deputy ministers and senior officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
