Delhi Liquor Policy Case: AAP workers protesting at Kashmiri Gate in support of CM Arvind Kejriwal, who appeared before the CBI on Sunday in the Delhi Excise Policy case, were taken into custody by the police. In view of the protest by the AAP workers, the Delhi Police has tightened the security outside the CBI Headquarters. Apart from para-literary force, a large number of Delhi Police personnel have been deployed. By barricading the routes leading to the CBI Headquarters, entry is allowed only on the basis of the identity card.
AAP’s Protest at 15 places in Delhi
AAP (AAP) leaders and activists are opposing the appearance of CM Arvind Kejriwal before the CBI. Demonstration of AAP leaders and workers is going on in 15 different areas of Delhi on 16th March against this decision of CBI. Areas where protests are continuing in the national capital include Anand Vihar, ITO Chowk, Mukarba Chowk, Peera Garhi Chowk, Lado Sarai Chowk, Crowne Plaza Chowk, Dwarka Mor Sector 6 and Sector 2 intersection, Pacific Wala Chowk, Subhash Nagar Mor, Prem Wadi. Chauraha Ring Road, New Delhi Railway Station Ajmeri Gate Side, Bada Hanuman Mandir Karol Bagh Chowk, IIT Crossing, ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Rajghat, NH 24 Near Murga Mandi Ghazipur and other areas.
Earlier in February also, Aam Aadmi Party workers had demonstrated strongly at different places when the ED called former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia for questioning. At that time, Manish Sisodia along with AAP leaders and workers had reached Rajghat before appearing before the ED. ED arrested Manish Sisodia after questioning him for several hours. Since then he is in Tihar Jail and he has not got bail yet.
