Atiq Ahmed Killed: Mafia and former MP Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were murdered at around 10 pm on Saturday (April 15) amid heavy security cordon. Both were murdered when the police brought them to Prayagraj’s hospital after a long interrogation. Media persons were questioning both of them, when three assailants shot them in the head from close range. The entire incident has been captured on camera.
Atiq Ahmed was killed at a time when his son Asad and his friend Ghulam were cremated on Saturday itself. Both were killed by the UP STF in an encounter on Thursday (April 13). Both were wanted by the police in the Umesh Pal murder case.
Sensation spread after the murder of Atiq Ahmed. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a high level meeting in Lucknow. In the meeting, instructions were given to implement Section 144 in the entire UP. The Chief Minister has appealed to the people to maintain peace. Police was seen patrolling the sensitive areas of UP throughout the night.
On the killing of both the leaders, the opposition parties have raised questions regarding law and order. Former CM Akhilesh Yadav tweeted that crime has reached its peak in UP and the morale of the criminals is high. When someone can be killed by openly firing amidst the security cordon of the police, then what about the safety of the general public. Due to this, an atmosphere of fear is being created among the public, it seems that some people are deliberately creating such an atmosphere.
At the same time, AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said that Atiq and his brother were in police custody. He was handcuffed. Slogans of JSR were also raised. The killing of both is the failure of Yogi’s law and order system. Those who celebrate encounter rule are also responsible for this murder. In a society where murderers are heroes, what is the function of the court and justice system in that society?
