Japan PM Attack: Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida was attacked with a smoke bomb during a speech in Wakayama on Saturday (April 15). In this attack, the attacker was arrested from the spot itself. After this, the Japanese police is searching the house of Kimura Riyaji, the person who threw the bomb.

The Japanese police asked the neighbors of the accused to keep distance from his house. The reason for this is that the accused had used explosives in the incident that took place on Saturday. Soon after the police threw the bomb, the accused Kimura Ryuji was caught by the security personnel and the police present at the spot.

According to Japanese news reports, Kimura Riyaji is a 24-year-old man living in Hyogo Prefecture. After being caught, he told the police that he would reveal anything only in the presence of his lawyers. Japanese PM Fumio Kishida was visiting a fishing port in Wakayama Prefecture to endorse a candidate for a seat in the upcoming Lower House by-election.

Just as Kishida was about to begin his speech, a smoke bomb was thrown into the crowd, followed by a loud bang. NHK World-Japan reported that after the incident, Japanese PM Fumio Kishida was immediately rescued from the spot and he was not harmed.

The Prime Minister of Japan gave a statement after the incident
According to police officials, a police officer has suffered minor injuries. NHK World-Japan reported that a source informed that the thrown object was attached to some kind of wire. According to the team investigating the spot, two such objects were found at the site – one exploded, while the other did not.

According to news reports, investigators are analyzing the composition of the explosive devices, which they suspect may be iron pipe bombs. Following the attack, Japan’s prime minister said police were investigating the explosion and apologized for causing concern. He said that we are contesting an important election for our country.
