A Coronation recipe fit for the King! Charles and Camilla unveil their new dish

Yes, there are finger sandwiches, strawberries and cream and, of course, Coronation chicken, but those looking for a Coronation recipe with a little more royal cachet might want to sample this delectable new dish. Chosen personally by the King and Queen Consort, the Coronation Quiche puts a fresh and healthy twist on a picnic classic.

Shared by the Royal Family’s chefs in honor of the historic occasion, the Coronation Quiche features spinach, broad beans, cheese and tarragon, although it can be ‘easily adapted to different tastes and preferences’. Helpfully for those who struggle in the kitchen, the recipe is accompanied by a video featuring chefs whipping up the light bite in one of the royal kitchens.

The Coronation Recipe was launched to promote the Coronation Big Lunch, an initiative which aims to bring neighbors and communities together to ‘share friendship, food and fun’. The hope is that it will spark fun-filled street parties and gatherings across the UK over the Coronation weekend. The Royal Family adds: ‘Her Majesty the Queen Consort has been Patron of the initiative since 2013 and has attended Big Lunches all across the UK and the world, including in Ghana and Barbados. Last year, The Queen Consort hosted a special Big Lunch at The Oval cricket ground to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
