Lucknow University: The grand Ram temple being built in Ayodhya is currently being discussed all over the country and the world and now Lucknow University will also tell its students about Ram city Ayodhya. About which you might not even know. Not only this, the students of the university will also get to know about Lord Ram and his genealogy. The excavation done by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in Ayodhya in 2002-03 on the orders of the Supreme Court. The archaeological remains found in it played an important role in the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the Ram temple. Their information will also be given.

The ancient Indian history and archeology department of the university will teach the history of Ayodhya to the students of the fourth semester of BA. It has been included in the fourth unit of the eighth paper, which is Field Archaeology. This change in syllabus has been done under the new education policy.

Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University Prof. Alok Rai said that those who know the religious and spiritual importance of Ayodhya, will now be able to know its scientific importance as well. Will be able to know better about Lord Ram. As an institution, it is our responsibility that whatever is contemporary, appropriate, which has some significance, which is important in increasing knowledge and research, we should teach all such things. The cultural sequencing of the excavations in Ayodhya has been made in terms of subject matter.

Prof. Alok Rai said that it is a happy coincidence that we are just 2 hours away from Ayodhya. Every story we hear has a scientific basis. When we were small children, we used to go to the new class and get new books and used to study more. Similarly, as a teacher, when we go to teach a new paper, our enthusiasm increases and if it is derived from our research, then the class is not just from the mind but from the heart.

Changes under the new education policy

AIH department chairman Prof. Piyush Bhargava said that we are in Awadh region, so the sites around us are very important to know about Awadh culture. Children should be familiar with them. Durgesh Srivastava, associate professor of the department, said that Ayodhya is already there in the literature, archaeological excavations also started here from 1969. Alexander Cunningham (Father of Indian Archaeology) told about Ayodhya in the British period around 1862-63.

The excavation done by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in Ayodhya in 2002-03 on the orders of the Supreme Court is also very important. The court has considered those evidences very important, inscriptions, seals, idols and coins etc. were found in this excavation. This excavation and the archaeological remains found in it played an important role in the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the Ram temple. In such a situation, this has also been made a part of the syllabus. That is, everything that happened from 1862 to 2002-03 is included in it.

Scientific facts will be included

According to the subject experts of the department, Ayodhya is a very ancient city. According to Puranas, this city was established by King Manu. After this Ikshvaku, Dashrath and Lord Shriram ruled here. Along with the history of the kings of Ayodhya, the importance and relevance of this city has also been included in the course. In the excavations done here at different times, terracotta sculptures, stone sculptures, inscriptions, seals, currency impressions and coins belonging to different periods will also be taught. That is, overall, whatever you have read and heard about Ayodhya till date, scientific facts will be explained by keeping it in front of you.
