Team of women e-auto drivers to provide last mile connectivity to Metro, initiative of Delhi Metro

Delhi Metro News: Delhi Metro is constantly striving for better facilities for its passengers. By expanding the services before and after the pleasant journey in the Metro, it is providing better facilities to the passengers. In this series, Delhi Metro has started several environment-friendly initiatives to strengthen the last mile connectivity. With this, metro passengers can use green public transport system instead of their private vehicles and also contribute in reducing pollution.

For this, Delhi Metro has selected a team of women. These selected women will operate e-autos for the last mile of Delhi Metro. For this, Delhi Metro is working with ETO to improve last mile connectivity for passengers. On Thursday, Delhi Metro and ETO have launched electric tricycles at Kalkaji Metro stations after Azadpur. It has planned to increase the number of its women fleet to 200 in the next three months.

Scheme to train 200 women drivers

To achieve this goal, ETO plans to train 200 women drivers in partnership with Delhi Transport Department, GMR Varalakshmi Foundation, School of Driving and Training Institute, Burari (DTI), Institute of Driving and Traffic Research (IDTR) is made.

Mohalla bus will also run in Delhi

Let us tell you that Mohalla bus service will also be started under the Last Mile Connectivity Scheme in Delhi. These small buses can be run even in narrow streets. People will be able to get public transport service outside their colony. All these will be e-buses, so that the problem of pollution can also be avoided.
