Pakistan Monkeypox: Pakistan has detected the first two cases of monkeypox in people coming to Pakistan from abroad. This information was given by the Ministry of National Health Services Regulation and Coordination of Pakistan on Tuesday (April 25).
Talking to Geo News, Health Ministry officials said that a man was deported from Saudi Arabia and on April 17, symptoms of monkeypox were found in him. Meanwhile, symptoms of Mpox were also seen in another person sitting with him in the flight.
Pakistani authorities started contract tracing
The identity of such people has been kept confidential. His samples have been sent to the National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad. Officials said that the victims are residents of Rawalpindi or Islamabad and now their relatives are being investigated. The investigating officers want to make sure that no one else has come in contact. They want that the virus should not spread in any way.
For this, the officials have also started contract tracing. One of the victims has been sent to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences. While the other has been quarantined in his house.

Earlier, the first case of monkeypox came in Africa. Same last year, on September 14, 2022, monkeypox cases were registered in 103 countries at the global level. In these, 59 thousand 179 cases have been registered. During this, 136 people had died.
Most of these cases were reported in Europe, Africa and North America. In India too, last year in 2022, the case of monkeypox came to the fore. Monkeypox virus is a viral disease caused by a species of Orthopox virus genus. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), monkeypox or mpox causes skin rashes or mucosal lesions.
In this, a person complains of fever, headache, muscle pain, back pain, low energy, swelling. In recent times, there has been a boom in the case of corona in India. Because of this, India also needs to check the people coming from abroad in every way.
