Kedarnath Dham Door Opening News: The doors of Kedarnath Dham, located in the upper Garhwal Himalayan region of Uttarakhand, were opened for the devotees on Tuesday (April 25) with due process of law after being closed for six months. On this occasion, the first puja was done in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee President Ajendra Ajay told that the main gate of the temple was opened at 6:20 am with Vedic chanting by Rawal Bhimashankar Linga, the chief priest of Kedarnath temple along with other priests and Dharmacharyas.

He told that the first worship in the temple was done in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for public welfare in the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. CM Dhami wished for the prosperity of the country and the state by worshiping Lord Shiva. He also welcomed the devotees who had come to visit Baba Kedar and also participated in the Bhandara program organized in the temple premises. On the occasion of the opening of the doors, the Governor of the state, Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd) was also supposed to reach Kedarnath Dham for darshan, but due to bad weather, his helicopter had to return from Gaurikund.

Shraddha shown in severe cold

Thousands of devotees from all over the country and abroad witnessed the opening of the doors of the temple despite severe cold due to continuous snowfall and intermittent rains for the last few days. Kedarnath Dham and the entire area around it is covered with snow. There is a layer of snow more than one foot high all around. However, snow has been removed from the temple premises and the footpaths leading to the Dham.

Flowers were showered on Kedarnath Dham by helicopter

On the occasion of opening the doors, the abode of Lord Shiva was decorated with 35 quintals of flowers. At the time of opening the doors, Kedarnath Dham resonated with the chanting of bhajan kirtan and ‘Jai Shree Kedar Bam-Bam Bhole’ by the devotees of Shiva amid the tunes of the army band. On the occasion of the opening of the doors, flowers were also showered on the pilgrims from the helicopter. Earlier, flowers were also showered on the Panchmukhi Doli of Lord Kedarnath on Monday.
