Manipur News: Manipur CM N Biren Singh has rejected the demand of 10 tribal MLAs to give separate administrative rights to Kuki dominated districts. Out of these 10 tribal MLAs, BJP has seven MLAs while Kuki People’s Alliance has two MLAs. Apart from this, the name of an independent MLA is also included. CM N Biren Singh met Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
In fact, 10 MLAs belonging to the Kuki-Chin-Mizo-Zomi group in Manipur had written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding this and also demanded to give separate administrative rights to these districts apart from Manipur. Rejecting the demand of 10 tribal MLAs, CM N Biren Singh said that there is no threat to the integrity of the state.
10 tribal MLAs had made this demand
Following the violence between the Meitai and Kuki communities, 10 tribal legislators have spoken of giving separate administrative rights to the Kuki-dominated districts of Manipur. It is being told that CM N Biren Singh informed Amit Shah about the demands of 10 tribal MLAs in the meeting.
This meeting took place at a time when a few days ago there was large-scale violence in Manipur in which more than 60 people died. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda was also present in the meeting.
The integrity of the state will not be affected – CM
During this, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh also said that the priority of his government is to restore peace and normalcy in the state. He said that such a situation will not affect or change the integrity of the state.
Along with this, the CM appealed to the people not to believe in rumours. More than 5,800 people have fled to Mizoram from Manipur following violent clashes and have taken shelter in various districts of the neighboring state.
