Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury On Wrestlers Protest: Wrestlers protest against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, former president of Wrestling Federation of India, at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Meanwhile, on Tuesday (May 16), Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary fiercely attacked the central government.
Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary said, “Injustice is being done to the players (wrestlers). Daughters have come after winning medals. The MP she is fighting against by sitting on dharna is colorful. Bajrang Bali is angry with them (the central government). Took the name of Bajrang Bali in Karnataka and the government has lost the election.
What is the matter?
Top wrestlers of the country including Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat have been protesting at Jantar Mantar for more than 20 days. These wrestlers are demanding the arrest of BJP MP Brij Bhushan for alleged sexual harassment of female wrestlers. The protesting players are saying that the movement will continue till this does not happen.
What are the wrestlers claiming?
The wrestlers said on Monday (May 15) that a major decision regarding the movement would be taken after May 21. Vinesh Phogat said, “Some people tried to obstruct our performance. Last time this happened when we were bringing beds to the protest site.
Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia claimed on Monday that we are being followed. People are recording and taking pictures. When we stop them from doing so, they do not listen to us. Some unknown people (women) were also trying to sleep here (inside the tents set up by the wrestlers). He said that he will not limit his protest to Jantar Mantar and will try to make every citizen of the country aware of his suffering.
