The Kerala Story Film: The Tamil Nadu government has told the Supreme Court that it has not made any pressure on the cinema hall owners to not show the film ‘The Kerala Story’. According to the government, people were not watching the film due to the absence of big actors in the film or for other reasons, so the theaters themselves removed the film. Released on 5 May, the film was removed from theaters in Tamil Nadu on 7 May. The producers have filed a petition calling it government pressure.
The Tamil Nadu government says that the filmmakers have given a false statement that the state government has banned the screening of the film. In its affidavit filed by the Tamil Nadu government, it has been said that the argument of the film director that there is a ban on showing the film in the state is wrong. With this, the government says that no pressure has been created for not showing the film in the state and screening has also not been stopped.
