Parliament Building Inauguration: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has appealed to all opposition parties to attend the inauguration ceremony amidst the opposition’s uproar over the inauguration of the new Parliament House. Along with this, he has talked about attending the function of YSR Congress. Reddy made this appeal in a tweet on Wednesday (May 24).

CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said in his tweet, “Setting aside all political differences, I request all political parties to participate in this grand event. In the true spirit of democracy, my party will participate in this historic event.”

Jagan Mohan Reddy praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet. He said, “I congratulate PM Narendra Modi for dedicating the grand and spacious Parliament House to the nation. Parliament, being the temple of democracy, reflects the soul of our country, our people and all political parties. Boycotting an auspicious event is not in accordance with the true spirit of democracy.”

Announcement of boycott of the program
Let us inform that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate the new Parliament House on 28 May. All political parties have been invited for its inauguration ceremony. Meanwhile, the opposition parties have demanded that the building be inaugurated by President Draupadi Murmu. So far 19 opposition parties have announced boycott of this programme.

Joint statement of 19 opposition parties
In a joint statement, 19 opposition parties alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to inaugurate the new Parliament House, completely bypassing President Murmu, is not only a gross insult to the President, but a direct attack on our democracy. Although many opposition parties have also announced to participate in the ceremony.
