State BJP president Satish Poonia led the protest on the second day of the assembly session.
The protest march started from the BJP party headquarters in the city. The party workers planned to gherao the state assembly but they were stopped by the police at 22 Godam circle in the city.
Representatives from the state BJP unit at the protest said that over 5,000 party members had joined the protest and more would come out on the streets to raise their voices.
The BJP workers are demanding compensation for farmers and cattle rearers in the state who have lost their cattle due to the lumpy skin disease outbreak in the state.
Till now, over 56,000 cattle deaths have been reported officially due to the Lumpy Skin Disease in the state.
Pankaj Joshi, state media coordinator said, “Instead of helping our cows in the state or reducing crimes against women, the state government has pushed their police force on us and is trying to stop us from raising our voice. We will continue to protest till our farmers get compensation. The government is not doing anything to protect the cattle and only making eyewash promises”.
